Christian Brazier - DAWS Partner

Christian Brazier

DAWS Partner

Experience: Christian has worked within community safety for two decades in a number of roles and organisations including the police, local authority and charity sector. This has provided him with a breadth of knowledge which he’s used to co-create DAWS.

Having specialised in working with those using harmful behaviour Christian came to understand the importance of our spheres of influence such as family, friends and the workplace. If we are to truly change entrenched societal issues we need a truly societal response.

In addition to DAWS Christian is a Domestic Homicide Review chair and regularly delivers training for Safelives.

Charlotte Lench - DAWS Partner

Charlotte Lench

DAWS Partner

Experience: Charlotte is a qualified Social Worker, accredited Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, and expert witness in public law court proceedings for children and families, with over 13 years of front-line experience in supporting those affected by domestic abuse. Her expertise includes reviewing local authority policies, authoring and delivering training, providing consultancy to professionals, and offering direct support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

Charlotte has a particular passion and interest in working with fathers who cause harm. Delivering bespoke intervention packages to this cohort of men, framing their behaviour through the lens of fatherhood to promote lasting change.

Charlotte also works as an associate trainer for SafeLives, a leading national domestic abuse charity, where she delivers tailored training packages to Local Authorities, working with young people affected by domestic abuse and working with those that cause harm.

Suki Newell - Guest Contributing Writer

Suki Newell

Guest Contributing Writer

Suki is a writer who began her career in the publishing industry, working as a project manager and delivering training to dozens of publishers worldwide. She holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and received a scholarship from the University of Cambridge for her thesis on gender and sex work.

As a contributing writer to DAWS, her writing centres on how workplaces can support those experiencing and perpetrating domestic abuse and sexual violence. Suki has an interest in criminology with a focus on investigative methods and the analysis of serial violent and sexual crimes.

Luke Kendall

Associate

Luke is a domestic abuse consultant, accredited Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate, Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme Facilitator, Independent Domestic Homicide Review Chair and has published articles on the prevalence of suicide within domestic abuse perpetrator cohorts.

Luke currently works on designing, implementing and quality assuring community and custodial interventions for high-risk domestic abuse perpetrators, as well as delivering training to social care, police forces, probation services and voluntary sector services on enhancing their responses to domestic abuse.

He has a specific interest in using evidence-informed approaches with those who use abusive behaviours in intimate and intrafamilial relationships, helping them discover more respectful, sensitive and rewarding ways to relate to others.
